Annual Convocation held at Sidhwan Khurd
The Annual Convocation of Khalsa College for Women and G.H.G Harparkash College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd was held here on March 16, 2011.The chief guest was Honorable Dr. Manohar Singh Gill, Union Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India. The chief guest was given a warm welcome at K.C.W, Sidhwan Khurd. The Garlanding Ceremony to Honor the Founder of Sidhwan Institutions Bhai Sahib Bhai Narain Singh Ji was done by the chief guest. After this Dr.Gill interacted with the staff members. The President of the Trust Capt. S.Dalbara Singh, Secretary S.Surjeet Singh,Dr. Khem Singh Gill ex-V.C. P.A.U Ludhiana Dr. Nayar Principal Law collage Sidhwan ,S. Mukand SIngh Sandhu SDM Jagraon,S. Harbans Singh, S. Ashok Singh Garcha and S. Jagjit Singh Ghungrana also graced the occasion with their presence. The Convocation was declared open by the Principal K.C.W. Dr. Mrs.Paramjit Kaur.This was followed by a formal welcome of the chief guest and presentation of the Annual Report by the Principal of Education College Dr. Mrs. Baljit Kaur. 250 students of B.Ed and 25 students of M.Ed of G.H.G. Harparkash College of Education were conferred Degrees. After this the Principal K.C.W. presented the Annual Report of the college. 292 students of various streams were conferred Degrees. The Role of Honor was given to eight students. Prizes were also given to twenty one students who topped their respective classes in the annual examinations held by the Panjab University in April 2010. The chief Guest Dr. M.S. Gill in his address emphasized on the issue of women literacy and liberation and eulogized the Sidhwan Institutions for their incredible contribution towards providing education to the foundation of any society that is the girl child. The vote of thanks was given by the Principal KCW Dr. (Mrs.) Paramjit Kaur and the convocation was declared closed by the Principal of College of Education Dr. (Mrs.) Baljit Kaur. The award of honor to the chief guest was presented by the President and members of the Trust along with the Principals of both the colleges. The convocation ended with National Anthem.
